教授,博士生导师。1987年至2000年就读于中国科技大学生物系并先后获学士、硕士和博士学位。1999年1月至2000年2月作为联合培养博士生在法国巴黎南大学IGM研究所学习,2000年至2003年底分别在法国科研中心及巴黎南大学结构基因组学实验室作博士后研究。2004年被聘为中国科技大学生命科学学院教授、博士生导师,合肥微尺度物质科学国家实验室(研究中心)研究员。2009年至2014年中国科学技术大学生命科学学院副院长,2014年至2019年中国科学技术大学教务处处长,2019年起中国科学技术大学校长助理、教务长,2021年12月起任中国科学技术大学副校长。
在Nature子刊、PNAS、EMBO Reports、NAR、JBC、Structure等杂志发表研究论文100余篇。曾获得1998年度安徽省自然科学二等奖和2000年中法科技交流协会生物技术奖。2005年至2016年中国生物化学与分子生物学学会常务理事,2014年起安徽省生物化学与分子生物学学会理事长,2015年起亚洲大洋洲生物化学家与分子生物学家联盟(FAOBMB)中国代表,2016年起科技部重大研究计划“蛋白质机器与生命过程调控”指南编制专家和总体专家组成员,2020年起任科技部重大研究计划“生物大分子与微生物组”指南编制专家,2021年起任国际生物化学与分子生物学联盟(IUBMB)非酶蛋白质命名委员会成员。
